Interoperability as a foundation
By building on Enode, ev.energy gained access to a broad, maintained catalog of EV and charger integrations without having to negotiate them manufacturer by manufacturer. That meant their smart charging and flexibility features could reach drivers regardless of what car they drive.

Flexibility for every driver
With the device layer handled, ev.energy can focus on the programs and services that make smart charging valuable — demand response, off-peak scheduling, and grid flexibility. Enode keeps the underlying connections live as manufacturers update their systems.
Combining real-time data from rooftop solar, home batteries and EVs lets ev.energy go past simply timing charging to solar hours: it adjusts the vehicle’s charge rate to follow the available surplus, so cars run on excess solar that would otherwise be exported.
