Hive expands smart home platform to be compatible with hundreds of new eco-tech products
Hive has partnered with energy technology company Enode to significantly increase the range of third-party eco-tech products compatible with its smart home platform, reinforcing its position as a market leader in connected home energy.
The partnership expands the Works with Hive programme, enabling hundreds of additional smart energy devices to connect with the Hive app. Households will be able to monitor and manage products from different manufacturers in one place, rather than switching between separate apps for each device.
By bringing these devices together through one ecosystem, Hive will create opportunities for households to use energy more efficiently, from scheduling EV charging during cheaper off-peak periods, to making better use of self-generated solar power stored in a home battery.
The rollout will begin with electric vehicles and EV chargers before extending to solar panels and home batteries.

The integration is powered by Enode's Energy Orchestration Platform, which gives Hive the flexibility to onboard new brands and product categories as the home energy technology market continues to evolve.
Hive, part of the Centrica family, is working to make home energy simpler, smarter and more rewarding. The partnership will also underpin further connected energy services across the group, including additional British Gas smart energy tariffs and future home energy optimisation services.
