Flexibility is often described in big numbers: connected devices, homes enrolled, megawatts under management. These numbers show the size of the opportunity. They say less about what happens when that flexibility needs to be put to work.
That is where reliability matters.
For energy retailers and flexibility providers, available capacity only creates value when it can be used with confidence. Portfolios need to respond when flexibility is needed, across changing conditions, different devices and thousands of individual customers.
There is no single measure that captures what reliable flexibility looks like in every situation. It depends on the portfolio, the devices, the market and what you are trying to achieve. What matters is whether the flexibility you have built can perform when you need it.

This is why scale matters. It is part of what makes reliable flexibility possible. Breadth is just as important.
