Resideo Grid Services and Enode expand access to residential energy flexibility

Resideo Grid Services, a leading smart-home energy management provider in North America, and partner Enode will help utilities unlock more value from residential demand flexibility. The collaboration makes it easier to launch and scale programs that connect a wider range of home energy devices—including batteries, solar inverters, and EV chargers—while enabling homeowners to participate directly through their utility or energy provider’s existing platform.
Helping utilities reach more homes and unlock deeper grid value
Utilities across North America are expanding residential demand response and virtual power plant (VPP) programs. Resideo already supports more than 800,000 connected devices through over 300 utility partnerships. By expanding its device coverage through this collaboration, Resideo enables utilities to reach even more customers and deliver greater grid value through a single, unified platform.
This broader device coverage also helps utilities meet equity and affordability goals. By supporting a broader range of technologies, programs become more accessible to diverse households - empowering more customers to participate and benefit.
Accelerating speed to market for multi-device programs
Traditionally, integrating new devices into residential flexibility programs meant building one-off connections with each manufacturer, a slow, resource-intensive process. Through Enode’s platform, Resideo Grid Services removes a lot of that complexity. Utility service providers can connect to multiple device types through a single integration, speeding up program rollouts and reducing operational overhead.
“At Resideo, we make it easier for utilities to build scalable flexibility programs that engage more customers” said Micheal Siemann, Director of Technology for Resideo Grid Services. “Partnering with Enode helps us do that faster, connecting new DERs onto our platform quickly and reliably, and giving our utility partners the tools they need to meet evolving grid needs.”
Delivering scalable flexibility for utilities and their customers
The Resideo-Enode collaboration brings benefits for utilities and their customers:
- Broader access to flexibility programs, supporting equity and affordability across diverse DER types
- Faster time to market for new demand response offerings and VPP offerings
- Reduced technical and operational lift
- Stronger homeowner engagement, with more opportunities to save and participate
“Working with Resideo lets us bring flexibility to scale,” said Thorvald Thorsnes, CRO at Enode. “Together, we’re helping utilities improve customer experience, expand program reach, and unlock more value from residential energy assets.”
Together, Resideo Grid Services and Enode are making residential flexibility more accessible, impactful, and scalable than ever before.
