Electric vehicles

What is an EV API?

Electric vehicles (EVs) are much more than just a new way to get around. They’re batteries on wheels, and they have a crucial part to play in our transition to a sustainable future. Almost every EV can connect to the internet. This connectivity is made possible via APIs.

APIs (Application Programming Interfaces) allow the exchange of data between users’ EVs and energy management apps, without the need for additional hardware. EV APIs can be used to monitor range and manage charging. They can also dispatch energy to the grid to help balance supply and demand, and maximize the use of renewable energy.

Enode’s EV APIs are used by leading companies like E.ON and OVO. It takes care of connections, and delivers the data innovators need to build the ultimate user experience.
