Schneider Electric joins forces with Enode to unlock the cost- and carbon-saving potential of EV chargers
Schneider Electric knows that distributed energy resources (DERs) have the potential to make an enormous impact on the way our energy system works.
One of the world’s leading manufacturers of utility grid technologies, Schneider Electric is committed to integrating DERs into the energy system, and driving innovation to control and optimize their consumption.
EV charging is a critical part of that vision. With EV adoption growing at pace, infrastructure that makes charging more cost-effective and carbon-efficient is becoming an important enabler of the energy transition.
At Enode, we’re delighted to be working with Schneider Electric to build the digital infrastructure for better home charging experiences. Together, we’re helping Schneider Electric customers get even more value from their chargers, making it easy to connect them to a wide range of home energy management solutions that reduce both charging costs and carbon emissions.
Making the most of DERs
Schneider Electric’s end-to-end eMobility solutions are used and loved by customers in over 100 countries worldwide. As an industry leader, the company aims to empower users to make the most of their energy resources, and make a positive impact in the energy transition.
Wiser Home, Schneider Electric’s home energy management app, already enables customers to control and optimize the consumption of their EV chargers. It delivers instant charging insights, and lets users stop and start charging according to their own schedules or changing energy prices. By partnering with Enode, customers with Schneider Electric chargers using Wiser Home are now able to instantly connect their devices to third party energy management applications, too.
Putting power in the hands of consumers
The partnership puts power back in the hands of consumers, letting them integrate their Schneider Electric chargers with a wide range of home energy management apps of their choice. In just a few taps, they can connect their charger to a large and growing market of apps that offer innovative use cases for streamlining and improving home energy management. They can monitor, manage, and optimize their chargers, while also integrating other residential DERs to seamlessly orchestrate household consumption in one place.
Opening up choice and control for consumers encourages them to become active participants in the energy transition, and empowers them to make informed, impactful decisions about their energy consumption. In doing so, they can save money on their energy bills and realize more lifetime value from their investment in chargers and other DERs.
Driving innovation with interoperability
This interoperability is beneficial for the wider energy ecosystem, too. Not only does it accelerate competition and innovation, it also makes Schneider Electric’s hardware accessible to a greater number of consumers as they start their sustainability journey.
“Interoperability is imperative as more DERs come online. By making it easy for consumers to connect their devices and consent to share their data, innovators across the ecosystem can build the solutions that are most needed to accelerate the energy transition,” said Thorvald Thorsnes, CRO and co-founder of Enode. “We’re delighted to open up access to Schneider Electric chargers, bringing them to a wider market of consumers, and helping unlock their full potential.”
